RTL friction torque limiters use disc-spring pressure on friction plates: RTL50 / 65 / 89 adjust by a single nut, RTL127 / 178 by three bolts; tolerant of high temperatures and widely used in conveying, packaging and machine-tool drives needing overload protection. Torque range 2.94–1087.8 N·m, 5 sizes × two stages.

The table lists 10 sizes with trip torque from 2.94 to 1087.8 N·m, bores up to Ø65 mm. The slip torque is set on the machine within each size's range; other bores and combined sprocket / pulley / coupling versions are made to drawing.

Torque range 2.94–1087.8 N·m, 5 sizes × two stages. The RTL is the workhorse friction torque limiter for heavy drives with frequent overloads: disc springs press multi-plate friction faces, the slip torque is widely adjustable (one nut on RTL50/65/89, three bolts on RTL127/178) and it tolerates heat. Mount a sprocket, pulley or gear on the centre member and it slips on jams instead of breaking the drive.
