Jaw / Spider Couplings

Two hubs + an elastomer spider: damping, simple construction, easy mounting; the spider is replaceable (Shore A 80 / 92 / 98). JM is the zero-backlash servo series, LM the GB/T 5272 general series.

Jaw / Spider Couplings: what size range does the table cover?

This page covers 7 series (JM1, JM2, JM3, JM4, WF, ROTEX, LM) with 84 catalogue sizes: bores from Ø2 to Ø160 mm, rated torque 1.4–25 000 N·m. Finished bores, keyways and clamp variants are machined to your shaft; sizes outside the tables are made to drawing.

Jaw / Spider Couplings: what is it and when should I use it?

Two hubs + an elastomer spider: damping, simple construction, easy mounting; the spider is replaceable (Shore A 80 / 92 / 98). JM is the zero-backlash servo series, LM the GB/T 5272 general series. Use a jaw coupling where you want damping and simple, forgiving mounting on servo, pump and general motor drives: the JM zero-backlash series with pre-loaded spider (Shore A 80/92/98 to tune stiffness) for positioning axes, the LM (GB/T 5272) series for general drives. Not for large radial offset — use an Oldham or disc coupling there.

Jaw / Spider Couplings: can I order a size that is not in the table, or just one piece?

Yes. Everything on this page is made to drawing, and the table is only the standard-size subset of the catalogue. Minimum order quantity is one piece — we routinely make single replacement parts for OEMs whose original supplier has discontinued the item. Send a DWG, STEP or PDF drawing (or a sample part): you get a formal quotation within 24 hours after the information is complete, and the first article ships within 30 days of drawing approval, with inspection records.

Jaw / Spider Couplings: what do I need to send to get a quote?

Send: shaft diameters and lengths on both sides (with keyways or clamp preference), rated and peak torque, speed, the misalignment you expect (angular, radial, axial), space available (outside diameter and overall length), operating temperature and whether the drive is servo/positioning or general. A drawing or STEP of the two shaft ends is ideal; a sketch with these values is enough for a first quote.
